The Adventures of Don Quixote

After more than 25 successful years, ETC’s Shakespeare in the Schools program proudly presents our NEW performance package!

Written by award-winning playwright KJ Moran Velz, an ETC staff member, this bilingual adaptation was developed specifically for ETC’s Teaching Artists to support the latest CKLA curriculum.

STUDENT EXPERIENCE

A 45-Minute Professional Performance

An engaging, fast-paced adaptation of The Adventures of Don Quixote designed for 5th grade learners.

A 45–55 Minute Interactive Workshop

The workshop uses guided theatre exercises
and text exploration to help students:

  • Explore major themes and essential questions

  • Translate key moments into their own words in storytelling

  • Examine character motivation as a driving force

  • Adapt scenes through episodic storytelling

  • Portray larger-than-life characters

  • Engage in theatre games that synthesize learning

We don’t just perform the story.
We help students decode it.
