Summer Camps

Summer camps are where imagination takes center stage! ETC camps offer a fun, supportive environment to explore acting, storytelling, improvisation, filmmaking, and more. Guided by professional Teaching Artists, campers build confidence, foster creativity, and form lasting friendships.

ETC Beginnings

The Great Outdoors

July 14 - July 18

Oakridge Elementary School

Explore the outdoors…indoors! Adventure awaits as you imagine a journey into the wilderness. ETC Beginnings offers an enriching experience for preschoolers to learn basic acting skills, and use their bodies, voices and imaginations to create exciting characters. The day includes acting games, story creation, arts & crafts, and outdoor time. A final sharing will be Friday, July 18th.

Find yourself on an adventure in uncharted regions after your ship…wrecks! Will you head home, or stay? Through improvisation, storytelling, art projects, theatre games & rehearsals, campers learn acting basics. Students will collaborate with peers and discover the joy of performing. A sharing will be held on Friday afternoon, July 18th.

Acting Out: The Basics

Educational Theatre Company is back with more acting antics! Campers will explore creative storytelling and improvisation, while enhancing vocal quality and physical self-awareness all at the same time! Through improvisation games and theatre exercises students of all levels of experience will transform into standout actors. Family and friends are invited on the last day to see their actors in ACTion! This camp is perfect for new or returning campers. Falls Church Summer Camp registration opens Feb. 18 for residents & Feb. 25 for non-residents.

Make ‘em laugh! Improvise outlandish stories and characters, don ridiculous outfits, learn sketch, mime, standup, slapstick, or clown. When not clowning around, campers will have the chance to take their new comedy skills to the big screen in silent comedy films! It all culminates in our Performance and Screening, Friday, July 25.

Make your own movies, hilariously! Along with improv and other laugh-a-minute activities, all teens at Camp Comedy Studios make films. Rising 7th & 8th graders, aka ‘Cineastes’, learn to write, direct, & edit silent comedies in the classic style. Returning filmmakers ‘Auteurs’ learn to write a screenplay, direct, and edit longer original films known as their “Grand Opus” while also learning to record and edit sound. It all culminates in our Performance and Screening, Friday, July 25.

Camp Comedy Studios is an ETC STEAM Camp.
